“Don’t let the liberal rub off on you.”
Probably the opinion of most people who live in the desert. My favorite time of day…
…Is late at night when I’m walking home. It doesn’t matter if I’m coming from the library, a bar, or a party, or if I’m alone or with someone. When I feel the cool breeze caress my face, I somehow feel alive, as if in the moment I become more aware of the universe and my place in it. The air crackles with the promise of a new adventure, even if I end up doing nothing else that evening. It’s hard not to smile at the beauty that emerges from shadows cast on the sidewalks, or from the full moon’s light.

“Mark my words: socialism is coming.”
My grandmother, on the consequences my generation will face because we voted/will vote Obama for president.
I love my grandmother. We have wonderful memories together, and she is one of my best shopping partners and drinking buddies. However, we will never see eye-to-eye on politics, and that makes me a little sad.
